Amazon Prime Day · Mid-July 2026

The window for pads, lanterns, stoves

Prime Day cuts sleeping pads, headlamps, lanterns, and electronics deeper than any other window of the year. Tents and coolers go shallower than Memorial Day - know which categories matter before the 48-hour window opens.

FAQ

When is Prime Day 2026?

Amazon has not announced the exact 2026 date yet. Historically it's a 48-hour window in mid-July (usually Tuesday-Wednesday). Plan around July 8-16, 2026. Sign up for Amazon's email so you get the notification - that's the only way to know the exact dates more than a few days in advance.

Do I need Prime to buy Prime Day deals?

Yes. Almost every deal is gated to Prime members. The 30-day free trial covers Prime Day and renews after if you forget - cancel right after the window closes if you only want the trial.

Should I wait for Prime Day for tents and coolers?

No. Memorial Day was the better window for tents (25-40% vs 10-15% on Prime Day) and coolers (20-30% vs flat on Prime Day). Prime Day is specifically the window for sleeping pads, headlamps, lanterns, electronics, and (rarely) stoves.

What about Black Friday?

For sleeping pads specifically, Prime Day usually cuts as deep or deeper than Black Friday. For everything else premium (Big Agnes, MSR, YETI), Black Friday is still the better window.
